Most views on the north side of the notch look down on the Village of Bartlett and across the Valley to Mt. Washington as well as the peaks of the southern presidential range. The view south of the notch reveals the peaks of Mts. Chocorua, Paugus, Passaconaway & Tripyramid. There are three accesses to the Bartlett Experimental Forest along the 8 miles stretch of this trail.

BARTLETT EXPERIMENTAL FOREST - There are numerous trails within the Experimental Forest. The trails are narrow & winding.

MEADOW BROOK TRAIL - This is a narrow trail extending from Bear Notch Road to the railroad near its junction with Sawyer River. The trail twists along old logging roads in soft and hardwood forests, over ridges and through valleys. Many bridges provide the crossings of river and streams.

OWLS CLIFF TRAIL - This is a steep narrow trail connecting two points on the Meadow Brook Trail. Fine views of the Sandwich Range may be enjoyed.

SCENIC SIDE TRAILS - The 2.5 mile Swift River Trail from Swann's Junction leads to a lunch spot beside the river. The Carrigan Bowl Trail leaves Meadow Brook Trail and is 2 miles long. They are both worth riding.
